Analyze the Data

Good governance depends on understanding the facts behind the decisions. Academic performance, financial trends, staffing, contracts, enrollment, and other district information can be complex, but they should not be difficult for the public to access or understand.

Serving on the School Board has reinforced for me how important good information is to good decision-making. The information behind major decisions is often spread across audits, contracts, state reports, budgets, enrollment data, and other public records. I developed these tools to bring that information together, analyze it more efficiently, and make the same analysis available to families, employees, taxpayers, and community leaders.

These tools are not intended to tell anyone what to think. Their purpose is to make public information easier to understand, provide useful context, identify trends, and help people ask better questions. No two school districts are exactly alike, but comparing how districts respond to similar challenges can reveal meaningful differences, tradeoffs, and opportunities. Better information leads to more informed discussion and better-educated decisions in the boardroom and throughout our community.
